Fruit Slicer

Swipe, slice and dodge the bombs: a rain of fruit to cut in half.

Fruit bursts out from everywhere: with a swipe of your finger or mouse, slice it in a splash of juice, chain combos and dodge the bombs. Alone, two on the same screen, against an AI slicer, or racing online on the very same throws.

How to play

Goal of the game

Fruit bursts from the bottom of the screen in parabolic arcs. Swipe your finger (or the mouse, button held down) to slice it in two before it falls back, and watch out for the bombs. A glowing blade follows your gesture.

Controls

  • Touch screen: swipe your finger across the fruit. Multitouch is allowed: several fingers, several blades. A simple tap also slices whatever lies beneath it.
  • Mouse: hold the button down and drag.
  • Keyboard: P or Esc to pause.

Game types

  • Classic: three missed fruits and the game is over. Slicing a bomb ends it at once.
  • Zen: 90 seconds, no bombs and no lives to lose. Just the pleasure of slicing.
  • Arcade: 60 seconds. A sliced bomb takes 30 off your total, and bonus stars fly across the screen.

Scoring and combos

Each sliced fruit scores 10. Several fruits in a single gesture make a combo: the second earns a bonus of 10, the third 15, the fourth 20, and so on. Three fruits in one go trigger a short slow-motion moment to make the most of it.

Bonus stars (Arcade)

  • Golden star: everything you earn counts double for 8 seconds.
  • Frost star: time is frozen for 4.5 seconds. Fruit floats and the timer stops.
  • Pink star, frenzy: for 5 seconds, a shower of extra fruit that you can let fall without any penalty.

Game modes

  • Solo: beat your records for each speed and each game type.
  • Two players: the screen is split into two halves. Both players face exactly the same throws and slice their own fruit at the same time. If one finishes before the other, the other only needs to overtake them to win.
  • Against the AI: an AI slicer plays on the other half, with five levels of reflexes and precision.
  • Online: simultaneous race. Every player gets the same throws and whoever scores highest wins. Your opponent's tally is shown live.

Levels

From the most relaxed to the most infernal, the speed sets the pace of the throws, the number of fruits per wave, the flight speed and how often bombs appear.

Tip: wait until a wave is at its peak, then draw one long line through several fruits at once. In the Classic game, spot the bombs before every gesture.

About the AI

The AI slicer acts like a player: it waits a short reaction time, anticipates the fruit's trajectory, draws a real gesture at a limited speed and sometimes misses by a few pixels. The higher levels avoid bombs better and look for lines that cross several fruits.

Speed

  1. RelaxedGentle pace: only a few fruits at a time, in slow flight.
  2. NormalThe classic pace, in waves of a few fruits.
  3. FastFuller waves and livelier throws.
  4. IntenseTight bursts and more frequent bombs.
  5. InfernalA rain of fruit at full speed, with bombs lying in ambush.
