How to play

Goal

An illustrated scene appears for a few seconds: a market, a railway platform, a beach, a kitchen, a schoolyard, a park in winter, a fishing harbour or a street party. Take it all in! When the time bar runs out, the scene disappears and you become the witness: answer the questions with the big buttons.

How to play

  • Tap Show the scene. A time bar shows how many seconds are left; tap I saw everything to move on sooner.
  • Then come the questions: how many things, what colour, who was just to the left of whom, what time the clock showed, which number was displayed, which way the car was going.
  • Sometimes the scene comes back with one difference: tap what has changed. Or something has disappeared: find out what.
  • After each scene, you see it again to compare it with your memories.

Points

  • A right answer is worth 100 points, plus a speed bonus that can double it.
  • A streak of right answers multiplies the points: ×1.5 from 2 in a row, ×2 from 3, ×2.5 from 5 and ×3 from 8. A mistake resets the streak.
  • The hint removes one wrong answer, but the question is then worth only half the points.

Modes

  • Solo: the Detective career (30 cases in 5 chapters, 1 to 3 stars each, with the ranks Passer-by, Witness, Detective, Inspector and Chief Inspector), free play on 5 difficulty levels, and the scene of the day, the same for everyone.
  • Against the AI: an AI witness looks at the same scene as you. Its memory is more or less reliable depending on its level: it forgets and mixes up colours or places, but it never cheats. Both answers are revealed together.
  • Two players: on the same device, you both watch the same scene, then each of you secretly picks, out of three questions, the trap the other must avoid. A hand-over screen hides the choices.
  • Online: two to four players watch the same scenes, each on their own device; the best score wins.

Levels

As the difficulty rises, there are more people, animals and objects, the scene stays up for less time, the questions get trickier, and distractions start to move. In the career, a case solved with at least one star unlocks the next one.

Controls

Tap or click the answers, or use the keys 1 to 4. Enter starts the next scene, H gives a hint and L opens the case map.

Tip: sweep the scene from left to right while telling yourself a little story: “the lady in the red sweater holds a blue umbrella, next to the brown dog”. A story sticks far better than a list.
